Internet users could face disconnection for illegal downloads
Internet users who illegally download music and films could lose their access to the web under legislation aimed at cracking down on those who flout piracy laws. Powers being drafted by the government will compel internet service providers to take action against customers who access pirated material.
AT&T to supply Starbucks with wireless Internet
AT&T, the biggest phone company in the U.S., agreed to provide Starbucks Corp.'s coffee shops with wireless Internet access. The service, which will be free for some users, will be available at more than 7,000 sites beginning later this year, Seattle-based Starbucks said today in a statement. AT&T will continue to offer Internet access to customers of T-Mobile USA, which has provided the service at Starbucks since 2002.
