Cu siguranţă că acei bloggeri care au afişate anunţuri livrate via AdSense pe blogurile lor au observat în ultimul timp că opţiunea de scroll reprezentată prin prezenţa a două săgeţi lângă blocul de anunţuri nu mai apare şi dispare cum se întâmpla înainte. Is Project Wonderful better than Google’s AdSense?

The answer is definitely not. I have Project Wonderful on my blog for about two weeks now. I used two different ad boxes, one with three columns, and another one with one column, the latter is displayed at present on INconstantIN’s Blog. However, none of them performed as well as I’ve hoped and expected. Although AdSense is more annoying, it is definitely better than Project Wonderful.

The one funny thing that I have noticed about Project Wonderful is that there are many bloggers advertising on my ad box whose blogs perform worse if compared to mine in matters of Alexa Ranking and feed readers. Let’s take an example. Viking Blogger. It has an Alexa Ranking of only 633.207, while mine is 333.201 (the lower the better) and the numbers of the feed readers are 32 at Viking Blogger and 42 in my case. Although the difference between the numbers of feed readers I have and that of Viking Blogger is not that significant, still, the difference in Alexa Ranking is huge.

So, this is the only satisfaction for the present being I get from using Project Wonderful ad network, no substantial fund gathered yet. I wonder whether I should keep using it or drop it and try something else…

So this is why the pay per click with AdSense became so inefficient these days:D

There were signs of a slowdown at Google after it reported disappointing profits in its most recent quarter. Google's profits were up 17% to $1.21bn (£608m) for the three months to the end of December.

Some analysts had been hoping for stronger profit growth and its shares fell sharply in after hours trading. Google's shares have fallen more than 18% so far this year on concerns that the slowing US economy will cause advertisers to cut back on spending.

Google AdSense is mocking at the bloggers: they reintroduce the referral program, with some "light" adjustments

All of you probably know already, Google decided to change its referral policy. Now, it seems that they rechanged it. Again. But with some "light" adjustments. Read the following:

You may have seen our recent post about the upcoming changes to referrals promoting AdSense. Since we made this announcement, we've received a number of responses about the program being dependent on the location of the referring publisher. We've carefully considered your feedback, and have decided to modify the original plan.

The changes to referrals promoting AdSense will now depend on where your users are located, regardless of your location as a publisher. You'll earn $100 for every user you refer to AdSense who is located in North America, Latin America or Japan when they generate $100 in AdSense revenue within 180 days and they remove all payment holds. You'll no longer be paid for users you refer who are located elsewhere. These changes will go into effect the last week of January.

The option to add a referral unit for AdSense will reappear in your account when you target any referral unit to Japan and/or any countries in North America and Latin America. To ensure payment for valid conversions, we recommend that you check the targeting settings on your current AdSense referral units".

Besides, in the post that you can find on adsense.blogspot.com there are also some importnt changes for the referers of Google Pack and Mozilla, as it follows:

• Google Pack: Currently, you can earn up to $2 when a user downloads and runs Google Pack for the first time after being referred through your link or button. Starting the third week of February, each successful Pack referral will earn up to $1. This change will apply to all referrals for Google Pack and is independent of user location or publisher location.
  
  
• Firefox: We'll also be reducing payments for Firefox referrals from China during the third week of February. This specific referral payment change will only affect installations from users in China. Again, this is independent of your location as a publisher.
